Reaching 8 million people monthly, it offers a fellowship program for emerging investigative storytellers and is independent.
Earth Island Institute, founded in 1982 by David Brower, is an international environmental organization sponsoring over 75 projects in conservation, wildlife protection, climate change solutions, women's environmental leadership, Indigenous communities, sustainable agriculture, food systems, community resilience, and environmental justice.
Oakland Zoo, established in 1922, is a nationally recognized animal welfare, rescue, and conservation leader. The Zoo works with over 25 wildlife conservation partners globally to accept, rehabilitate, and re-home wildlife rescued from wildfire and human-wildlife conflict. Oakland Zoo is involved in the community, offering free education programs and admission to underserved families and children.
Fred Finch Youth & Family Services partners with people and communities to provide culturally responsive services that cultivate mental and physical resiliency and wellness. Finch works with young people to overcome multiple challenges, including homelessness, economic disadvantage, mental health and cognitive disabilities, and histories of significant trauma and loss.
The San Francisco Community Land Trust (SFCLT) is a nonprofit organization aiming to provide affordable housing for low-to-moderate-income individuals through community ownership of land, guided by anti-displacement and racial justice principles, focusing on BIPOC communities previously excluded from wealth and homeownership opportunities.
The Tiny News Collective is a non-profit that empowers individuals to construct sustainable news organizations that cater to their communities by providing them with the necessary resources, tools, and knowledge. The Collective prioritizes amplifying voices that were traditionally excluded from media and ownership.
The Massachusetts Alliance for Early College (MA4EC) is a non-profit, cross-sector coalition focused on dramatically increasing the number of students with access to high-quality Early College in Massachusetts. The Alliance believes that increasing access to Early College is key to promoting college and career success and closing equity gaps.
The Amah Mutsun Land Trust is a non-profit that focuses on restoring indigenous knowledge and practices to Popeloutchom-their ancestral lands. They do this through conservation and restoration, stewardship and research. The Amah Mutsun Land Trust is the vehicle by which the Amah Mutsun Tribal band is returning to the lands, knowledge and practices of their ancestors.
